Pastel Cupcake

...written by Leia

My obsession with all things pastel has by no means subsided. Case in point: this dress I just bought -

I've been trying to embrace the mixed prints trend, although it's really difficult to pull off! I thought I'd ease into it by choosing a simple color palette and opting for subtle patterns...

If you want to try this trend but don't know how to get started, I recommend Lauren's great guide on how to mix prints; read it here.

I felt as though I looked like a giant cupcake!

Great dress! Really light-looking. Jane Marple had a similar one a year or two ago but I never got my hands on it..

You look so cute! I love mixing stripes and spots myself and I think the key is getting colours that work.

Love the tiered ruffles of your Oasis dress. They make the dress so much more feminine.

I think you pulled it off really well... you used the same color palette for the dress and the tights which made the mixed print look more appealing to the eyes. Great look! xoxo

What a lovely little dress! Hell yeah, I have no problem with print-mixing. I love mixing red stripes with black florals. I'm yet to experiment out of that box but I reckon it could work with black & white polkadots :]

You look as delicious as a cupcake!!
I think you pull off mix-prints very well darling Leia.
...yes, I absolutely love mixing my prints up but there is always one coordinating element (a colour, a 'fee', etc) so that regardless of the patterns, the overall efect is appealling.
