I find that transitional weather is often the hardest to dress for. Sometimes it's hot enough for skirts and sleeveless tops; sometimes it's pouring with rain; and sometimes it's so cold it feels like winter! A few days ago, the temperature dropped so much that I was sitting at home with the heating on, wrapped in a blanket.
I think the best piece for moody weather is definitely a trench coat. Almost every book on style will tell you that you need a basic, beige, Burberry-esque trench. Well, you all know that I don't like basics! I have two trenches; one is pink and ruffly (seen here), and one is a simpler, black & white trench, seen below. Trying out an animated gif for the first time -
Wearing: Lucy Paris trench,
Beverly Feldman wedges
I threw this on for a day full of errands - running to uni, getting my eyes tested, etc. - so I needed something simple that could see me through the day, come rain or shine!
What are your style tips for coping with transitional weather?
