My two great fashion loves are shoes and jewellery. I've realised, I've done a lot of shoe posts recently, but not enough jewellery ones. So, I thought I'd write about a fantastic new jewellery company that I've just discovered: Mawi.
This season, designer Mawi Keivom has created a capsule collection, which is exclusive to my-wardrobe.
The jewellery consists of a lot of luxery statment pieces and there is clearly a good mix between cutting edge contemporary style and traditional influences. The jewellery is absolutely gorgeous! It's all really fun and is the perfect balance between theatrical charm and ladylike glamour.
Mawi have pieces that are both fashion forward and classic. Their range is split into two: Costume Luxe and Heirloom. The two collections are quite different, provin that Mawi definitely provides jewellery for past, present and future.
The Heirloom collection is has a very British feel to it and takes inspiration from the past. The pieces are vintage and take influence from family heirlooms and royal/historical jewellery. The aim is that these are tresures that can be passed down from generation to generation. This season, the Heirloom Collection has become more modern, but still keeps it's vintage feel, with strands of pears and floral details.
Costume Luxe, on the other hand, has a more futuristic feel to it, with emphasis on high end luxury. The jewellery is all very fashion foward and is pure statement. The pieces are cutting edge, that are also collectors items.
This season, the collection has been split into 'Punk Rajah' and 'Deco Noir'. Punk Rajah has the perfect blend of Maharajah-inspired colours and shapes, along with Mawi's signature toughness, which has been inspired by punk culture.
Deco Noir is more sophisticated than before and the graphic shapes are inspired by Art Deco, which are paired with crystals to add an air of femininity.
Here are my favourites:
