Ok, I know this is a Sunday feature, but I thought I'd put it up today instead.
Eeeep, we're in the midst of LFW. Although I'm not at any shows today (showing relatives around London), I've already been to some great ones (Paul Costelloe) and I've got some amazing ones coming up.
Firstly, H&M are doing a pretty cool blogger competition on facebook. Basically, bloggers put up the widget on their blog (mines on the right hand-side bar), and the blog that gets the most votes will get an exclusive trailer for the Lanvin for H&M Fashion Show...ie NO ONE else will have it (not even the H&M website of Youtube). Anyway, now for me to lose my dignity: Please Vote For Me *puppy dog eyes*
Marie Claire will also be presenting a Maybelline New York Pop Up Shop, for 10 days only (16th-26th September), in Covent Garden (18 Shorts Gardens, WC2H 9LD). The shop will be dedicated to backstage beauty, as well as having exclusive Maybelline Make Up and tips on how to achieve this seasons make up looks, making this the perfect event for make up lovers. There'll be manicures and threading taking place. The Backstage Beauty Bar will make the catwalk looks more accessible, with make up artists creating and walk you through all the latest make up trends for AW. There'll also be a photographer papping you after your make overs.
There'll also be a lot of cool events to tie in with this:
They're running a Twitter event. They'll be tweeting where they are, and if you find either a 'Marie Claire Fashionista' or a 'Maybelline Make Up Maven', you could win Marie Claire Dollars, to spend in the pop up store. Remember, you must have your copy of October's Marie Claire Magazine (with Blake Lively on the cover).
On the 19th and the 26th, you could also be scouted by Elite Modelling Agency. They'll be looking for fresh new talent, as well as a professional model giving tips.
And Monday night, there'll be an amazing event taking place in the pop up store. For one night only, the pop up store will turn into a Beauty Lab, with a mentor series on how to get into industry events. There will be expert women from within the industry telling you how to make a career in cosmetics.
It all sounds really exciting. I'm going to be around the pop up store tomorrow afternoon (about 3pm) so definitely pop in as well.
Off of the success of their LFW Competitions last season, Eclectic Eccentricity are doing it again for this season. They are doing six days of competitions and discounts.
This weekend, they're doing a free gift with EVERY order, just type FREE in the message to seller box at Paypal checkout.
On Monday, you'll be able to name an exclusive one off necklace and whoever comes up with the best name wins one. One Tuesday, you'll be able to vote for your favourite piece from the website and the one that gets the most otes will be at 50% off for one day only. And finally, on Wednesday, everything will be a whooping 30% off!
For more information, check out their Facebook and Twitter pages.
Finally, it's time for another competition...yaaaaaay. Lypsyl recently held a fashion competition and announced the winner last week, in the run up to LFW. The winner was Vicky Fallon, from Northampton University, with this amazing design.
Anyway, Lypsyl have offered to send lip balms to 5 of you. For your chance to win, just let me know what you would wear that jacket with.
This competition will run for one week (until 25th September), and is for UK residents only.
P.S. Prepare for a lot of Fashion Week posts next week.
