Earlier this week, I was at the Clarks Press Day. If I'm honest, I've always associated Clarks as being my mum's style, instead of having really trendy pieces. I was really impressed when I saw their AW collection a few months ago, so I thought I'd check out the SS collection to see what's in store. And as a shoe person, how could I refuse?
First: the bags. I thought they looked really cool. The textures and prints were really fashion forward and you know, as it's Clarks, that they'd be sturdy, classic pieces.
Clarks also had a few Sports style's around. They used a lot of Technology and the shoes had some cool features that let your feet breath and keep you comfortable. For example, the first shoe uses acupucnture technology to focus on the pressure points on your feet, and the mens boat shoe has holes that get's rid of any water that comes through.
The main collection did look really amazing. I loved how cool some of the shoes looked and can't wait for the Summer so that I can buy them.
The Clarks Original Collection was actually quite remarkable. They'd collaborated with Laura Ashley to make these babies:
And these ones below are definitely my favourite pair for the event! How original and unique are they?
Clarks ended the preview with a little gig, by The Supernovas. I hadn't heard of them before, but you know me: always a sucker for live music. They were really talented, and came out of Stummerville, which is a programme set up by the late Joe Strummer's wife, to help up and coming bands,
All in all, a pretty unexpected visit. I've never really bought shoes from Clarks before, but I feel that they've really uped their game and are really becoming more stylish.
