My Qatari Outfit
I think I mentioned it, but it is boiling here in Qatar. I will have to say it is one of the hottest places at the moment, and I'm loving lounging around in it.
I know I've been a bit behind on cool outfits, but here's one that I personally love.
Despite the hot weather, I really do feel that I need to be at least slightly modestly dressed. I'm avoiding dresses, skirts, in fact, anything that's above the knee. And as you know, I do love my dresses/skirts relatively short, so I'm finding it a bit hard to dress appropriately, especially as I'm in such a hot place.
I've been wearing this outfit a lot while here on holiday. The jeans are River Island, the T-Shirt is New Look and the shoes were bought from a local store, here in Qatar.
The jeans are absolutely perfect for this weather. They are slightly cropped, but not too much and they are pretty light. The top is one of my new favourite pieces in my closet. I love the design and beads on the front. I bought it specially for this holiday, so I have been wearing it a tad too much.
It's my shoes that I absolutely love though. Although not the best choice for a shopping trip, they are great. As the women here are pretty covered up, all you can usually see are spectacular bags and shoes. I felt a bit left out in my flats and sneakers, so I had to buy this pair to fit in with all the other glamourous shoes I'm seeing. And they were a bit of a bargain, at £20.

Top 6 Albums - 2010
As you read this, I'll still be lying near a pool, in my hotel, enjoying my last week of sun, before I have to come back home. Although, I am very tempted to extend my trip for even just a few days.
As the year is nearing it's end, I thought I'd do a round up of all my favourite albums of the year. There have been some pretty amazing bands and albums this year, and narrowing it to my Top 6 has been really hard and I even considered doing a top 12 list instead of Top 6 (yup, random numbers)! But, I thought I should cut them down, or the post really would have been too long, and sadly, some great band and albums have been left out (Emarosa, Funeral Party, Francesqa), but here are my top 6:
6: Ellie Goulding - Lights
This album is absolutely beautiful. My taste in music is usually slightly heavier, but I couldn't resist on this one. Ellie Goulding is very talented and has such an incredible voice. In this day and age, you see lots of female celebrities take off more and more clothes to gain recognition, so it's good and refeshing to see a female still appear modest as she become's famous.
The album itself is very relaxing to listen to. Starry Eyed was a summer anthem and gained her a lot of fans, as she toured around the festivals. The album has a very summery and relaxing feel to it, with songs like The Writer and Everytime You Go having a lot of emotional meaning behind them: Goulding had a rough upbringing, so she could really draw from her experience to produced real music. When I first got the album, I thought it'd be ok, just for a couple of listens, but it really exceeded my expectations and all the songs are beautifully sung. Salt Skin is another beautiful track, which really showcases Goulding's voice. You can tell that she's also a really nice person, and the album reflects her personality here.
Stand Out Track: Your Biggest Mistake
5: Kings of Leon: Come Around Sunshine
Having just bought this album, I still don't know it as well as I'd like, but it hasn't disappointed thus far. 2008s Only By The Night really gave Kings of Leon the recognition that they deserved and this album is a great follow up. You see many bands produce one great album, and then the follow up never lives up to expectations. I'm so glad to say that this not the case with Kings of Leon. Having been a fan of the band for years, I am really happy to see that they've made their way up to become one of the biggest bands in the world. I'm listening to The Immortals as I'm writing this review and it is just so well sung, with the music going so well with it.
Caleb's voice is something that I could never get tired listening to and the songs are full of amazing lyrics. You can really tell of their Southern roots in this album as well. I wish I could say more, but I've only listened to it a few times!!
Stand Our Track: Mi Amigo
4: The Like - Release Me
Anyone familiar with this blog will know just how much I love The Like. They're one of those bands that instantly put a smile on my face when I hear the songs. The album has been produced by Mark Ronson, and is full of great and edgy lyrics. The band had loads of problems after the first album, so it's fantastic to see the girls working so well together to produce some quality stuff. Z Berg is a really talented singer and the rest of the band is fantastic. The songs all have really strong lyrics and it's clear that a lot of the songs come from personal experiences as there are some fantastic and creative lyrics. Wishing He Was Dead is great to listen to and definitely something that most girls can relate to.
I absolutely love their unique retro vibe: it's so different from anything else currently out there, and it's such a nice change to listen to.
Stand Out Track: Walk of Shame
3: The Gaslight Anthem - American Slang

The Gaslight Anthem are possibly one of my favourite bands ever, and their '59 Sound Album made me fall head over heels for them a few years ago. The band are from New Jersy, and even have a fan in Bruce Springstein (they preformed together last summer). Frontman, Brian Fallon, possibly has one of the best voices in music: it's really rough and rugged: completely unique. The band themselves are very talented when they're playing, with the music all fitting in really well together. They've got a really 70's American sound to them, but also have a lot of catchy songs. Songs such as The Diamond Church Street Choir and Boxer are catchy and will make you sing along, while American Slang is an amazing opener. The album is great if you want to listen to something different from all that mainstream music out there.
Stand Out Track: The Queen of Lower Chelsea
2: The Pretty Reckless - Light Me Up
As you know, I'm a huge Pretty Reckless fan. I've become such a huge fan of Taylor Momsen since she switched to singing and then absolutely fell in love with her when I went to see them live. I still don't like her as Jenny H, but her as a person has grown on me. I wasn't expecting the album to be as good as it was. It has the hardcore stuff (with the edgy lyrics) that initially made me like the band, such as My Medicine and Goin Down, but it also had a few tracks that I didn't expect. Songs, such as Just Tonight and Nothing Left To Lose absolutely blew my mind. They really made me wonder why Taylor went into acting at all because her talents clearly lie in singing. Those songs alone really show how talented she is and how amazing and strong her voice is. I was so surprised when I first heard the album: no lie. Some of those songs, I really did just sit there and think: 'wow, she's good'
This is definitely an album to buy. Get all your prejudices of Taylor Momsen out of your head and really appreciate just how much of a fantastic singer she is.
Stand Out Track: You
1: Young Guns - All Our Kings Are Dead
I will probably go as far and call this one of my favourite albums of all time, which I really wasn't expecting when I bought the album. The band made a name for themselves from their EP, 'Mirrors', and I went to see them live off the back of that. They were absolutely amazing live: the energy on stage and atmosphere at the show was absolutely fantastic! I bought the album the next day and, at first listen, I fell in love (which has never happened before).
The album is drawn from a lot of lead singer, Gus's, personal experiences, and in a world of manufactured pop and songs with little meaning, it's refreshing to hear such personal stuff. Songs such as Meter and Verse and At The Gates have some of the most beautiful lyrics I've ever heard. If I'm honest, I haven't had the best couple of months, and listening to this album has really helped me through a lot of things. Sons of Apathy and Crystal Clear, in particular, are songs to listen to when you really need a bit of a confidence boost.
This is one of the only albums where every single song is incredible and very strong: there isn't a single 'filler' track.
Stand Out Track: Weight of the World
So tell me: what have you been listening to this year?

Peacocks
I'm not going to lie: this is possibly my most favourite celebrity Halloween outfit ever!
I love Peacocks and I think Audina did a great job on the whole outfit. Ever since I saw this picture, I've wanted a more casual, wearable version of the outfit.
InLoveWithFashion kindly offered to send me something to review and when I saw the Peacock designed skirt, I couldn't resist.
Gorgeous, isn't it?? I decided to pair it with a plain black T-shirt, just to make it stand out a bit more. It's such a pretty skirt and it's velvet. I usually don't wear velvet, but I absolutely love this one. It's really comfortable, and it fit really well.
And a close up of the print:
I was, however, only able to wear the skirt in and around the hotel because it was quite short, considering the traditional nature of Qatar. I can, however, see myself wear this through the winter, back in England, with tights, and through the summer as well.
Definitely check out InLoveWithFashion: The website is full with some really pretty and unique items. The dresses on the site, in particular, are amazing.
Sherin xx
P.S. I saw Harry Potter last night! Wasn't it absolutely amazing? If I'm honest, I did shed a few tears... And did't Ron look really attractive?

Hi Everyone!!
Hope you've all had a great week. Sorry I've been a bit MIA, finding time to blog while on holiday is a bit harder than I thought. But next week looks a bit more free (except for me finding a cinema that shows Harry Potter!!)
But here's a few of me, enjoying the sun:
Anyway, thought I'd leave it short and sweet this weekend, while I relax in the immense heat (although, I've already had a mild case of sunstroke).
I am really excited to hear that Kate Middleton and Prince William are officially engaged. I am really looking forward to a Royal Wedding! So a huge Congratulations to them.
Anyway, did you see the ring?? Gorgeous, wasn't it? And really sentimental as it belonged to the Late Princess Diana as well.
Well, QVC have put out a replica of the ring, at just £34!! It's a Epiphany Platinum Diamonique Oval Cluster Ring and is selling like crazy over at QVC. And you can find it here, as item no. 685813 (I suggest you leave the internet browser open somewhere where your bf can see it...)
Staying on the subject of jewellery: there is some great jewellery out there that will make perfect presents!
Firstly, Amishi, a luxury bag and jewellery brand where the bags are encrusted with Swarovski crystals!
The collections are timeless and irresistable as well as being very unique.
St Barths Couture is another gorgeous jewellery brand, and it's relatively new to the UK. The collection includes lovely jewellery, such as cuffs, that is inspired by a Carribbean Island, and also has a touch of French Glamour as well. It is also a very affordable range, with prices starting at just £25.
Hope this helps a bit with Christmas presents for yourself and for others! Now if you'll excuse me, the pool is looking very very inviting!

Halpern Press Day
Last week, I was also at the Halpern Press DAy, and again, there were some really cool collections.
Project D:
This is Danni Minogue's line, along with designer, Tabitha Somerset Webb. The collection was filled with gorgeous and glamorous dresses. The white one is definitley something that will see you through the day and night, and the other dress is really elegant.
Sunglasses:
There were a lot of gorgeous sunglasses at the Press Day as well. From the likes of Roberto Cavalli and John Galliano, they were all incredible. I do find it hard to find glasses that fit me (I have a small head), but these did look really good. There were a lot of really cool and unique detailing on all the sunglasses.
French Sole:
Mmmmm, shoes. French Sole are an absolutely classic brand and are very well known for their incredible shoes, and espeically flats. I also saw some cute kitten heels, and these pointy toed flats. There were also bags there that fit in so well with the French Sole collections.
Milly:
Milly is such a pretty collection. There were some gorgeous pieces, with some great detailing as well. I love that coat below: it's so unique and the buttons were gorgeous. And the dress had a drawstring at the front, giving it a great look.
The first dress is perfectly nautical. We know the nautical trend is going nowhere (yaaay), so it's nice to see a dress like this. I can imagine relaxing in the sun in this dress. And the second dress has pictures of little bugs all over it. Although I can't see myself in this dress, it is definitely unique and interesting.

Yellowdoor Press Day (Photo Heavy)
As I'm currently on holiday, I thought I'd catch you up with a few press day's that I went to last week. I absolutely love Press Days: It's so much fun seeing next season's collections up close and personal, and I love sharing it all with you guys. I was at the Yellowdoor Press Day and was very impressed by the collections!
Swarovski:
Swarovski are one brand that never disappoint. I'm a bit of a jewellery freak, soI always love seeing what they have up. along with the stunning jewellery, they also had some really cool stocking fillers, such as a Swarovski USB!!! Now seriously: that's pretty cool.
Acne:
Mmmm, Love Acne! Their collections are always really really fun to look at and they usually have some unique pieces. There was a lof of leather, which I loved, and they had even collaborated with a tattoo artist on a few patterns.
The shoes were also pretty spectacular. They tie is really well with the current 70's trend and they also looked really comfortable. As we know, sky high heels has been in fashion recently, and Acne has taken this trend on board, and made it a lot more wearable with these boots:
Also, coolest invention ever: these sunglasses are also earrings. When you put them on, it looks like you're wearing dangly earrings. Amazing right:
MyTheresa.com
MyTheresa always have some great exclusive collections from the likes of Marc Jacobs. There were some really pretty dresses andgorgeous shoes, from some really top designers. The dress and shoes below are so pretty and so perfect for the SS season.
Radley:
What I love about Radley is that they are so classicly and quintessentially British. They have always had some of the best bags around, that are both classic and trendy. This season was definitely no different. They've also started doing some really cool shoes, which are really wearable.
Havaianas:
Yep, we all love Havaina;s. They've taken the flip flop trend to a whole new level and just make wearing them so fun. I saw ones with leather straps, as well as ones with Swarovski crystals in the straps.
They've also bought out a cool selection of colourful sneakers and summery slip ons.
Matalan:
This is one company that they have really up-ed their game in the last month. They've always been around, but never really that known. They seem to have had a bit of an image re-vamp since the summer and are turning into a top player. They've kept their original, affordable prices and have bought out some trendy pieces. I saw a lot of florals and lace, and some really cool shoes.
I am so in love with that second pair of boots: I can't wait to get my hands on them!!!
Jesire:
Jesire also had some really classic pieces, with a 60's style. There were a lot of Chanel-like jackets (which we all love) and a lot of pretty coloured dresses. I've never really looked into Jesire before, but the collection really makes me want to see what else they have.
The Smiley Company:
The corner where this collection was kept was the happiest corner ever!! The Smiley Company owns the Smiley emoticon and have a whole series of products based around it. The t-shirts were amazing and they also had everything from stools, cushions, jewellery and bean bags, all with the Smiley face.
A Wear:
A Wear's recent collections have been very 1960's and I love them for this!! The dresses have been stunning and other clothes, such as shorts and tops have been along the 60's trend as well. The purple dress is amazing and I love that Playsuit: perfectly 1970's!

Check out more pictures from all these collections on my Facebook Page.
