Tuesday News

Something a bit random this Tuesday. There's a lot going on in the fashion world, especially with charities, so I thought I'd share some of it with you.

I'm really unhealthy and do very little excercise, but it's always nice to be encouraged. Boutique Sport encourage young women to get fit and to have fun at the same time as they combine sports with pampering. For example, they hosted a 10k run, which was followed by a pampering evening, full of hot showers, nail bars and make up artists. And even better, they work with Breakthrough Breast Cancer, so all proceeds go to charity.

The next boutique run will take place on the 9th July 2011, in Battersea Park, and after, there will be nail bars, make up stations and champagne.

Swimwear brand, Paolita, are throwing a pretty cool Beach Party on the 19th May, from 10am to 9pm, to showcase their new collection. The brand have some stunning swimwear pieces and they'll be perfect for the beach.

The part will take place at British Designers @ FC Boutique, 2 Seymour Place, London, W1H 7NA. Be sure to make it down if you can. I'll defintiely be hanging around.

Selfridges is currently hosting Project Ocean, which is a month long celebration about our oceans, to showcase the threats to our oceans, such as over fishing. They've partnered with environment groups, such as ZSL, fashion designers and chefs to raise money and awareness. Until 12th June, events, such as cooking demonstrations, talks and workshops, will all be taking place.

The project will completely take over Selfridges, from the food hall, the front and even it's iconic wndow displays. And on Friday's the Ultralounge will turn into the Dive Bar, with music and performances. The project will also tie in with the UN's World Ocean Day Summit (8 June), called Globe.
Other thngs taking place include marching frogmen, balloons and 'No More Fish In The Sea' t-shirts from designer Katherine Hackenwerth.

Marie Claire, Storm Model Management and my-wardrobe.com are all getting together to host a Fashion event, in aid of the Rainbow Trust Children's Charity, and this will be co-hosted by Sadie Frost.

Celebrities, models and fashion industry expertswill all join forces for a two day event at One Mayfair, in London, and it will also feature a fashion show. There'll be a VIP evening on 29th June, followed by a sample sale on the 30th, full of great deals from amazing brands.
The VIP launch while also play host to a my-wardrobe.com catwalk show, with looks styled by Marie Claire editors. The catwalk show will be followed by an exclusive auction, with pieces from the likes of Mulberry, Louboutin, Erdem and Longchamp.

The aim of all this will be tto raise funds for the charity, and to help families who have to care for a child with a terminal illness. The Rainbow Trust offers support workers to families to help and these carers are available 24 hours a day.

The VVIP evening will cost £175 for the night, including dinner, while the VIP tickets will be £100 and the gallery tickets £55.

The sample sale is MUCH more affordable, and will feature a cocktail hour, nail art from Boom Nails and a celebrity DJ, including brands such as Alexander McQueen, Jaeger, French Connection, Benefit and Warehouse all donating.
Entry before 11am: £8 (first pick of the sale)
Entry from 11am until 3pm: £5
Entry after 3pm: £2
