Outfit: An Indian Wedding

On Saturday, we were invited to our neighbours wedding. I haven't been to wedding in ages, so my mum and I were very excited to get all dressed up and go. My neighbours are Indian, so I knew I could definitely get away with wearing traditional clothes, which I actually only ever wear in Pakistan now.

My neighbours have been doing a lot of preparation in the run up to the wedding and have been holding various ceromonies and events in their back garden, where they put up a huge marquee. A few nights prior to the wedding we were invited over for one of the ceromonies and it was a lot of fun. There was a lot of food and there were women there doing henna on our hands, which I had to do:

Anyway, this is what I wore to the main day of the wedding.

I bought the clothes from Southall (West London) and my shoes are Priceless. And I also felt this was the perfect ocassion to wear my House of Harlow ring/bracelet.

I'm not going to lie; I had a few issues with the trousers. They're very very heavy (there's diamante all along the sides) and so they kept slippoing down and getting stuck in my heels. I've also lost weight since I last wore these, over a year ago, so they really wouldn't stay up!

I like the idea of your 'list' for clothes shopping. I tried to write my own last night but it ended up rather long!

I love this traditional outfit on you! A shame about the trousers (I don't suppose a belt can be attached?). The henna art is incredible as well.

P.S. Re: your last comment - the London in Bloom post was actually an old one. I wrote that in April, so I guess it must have showed up as 'new' in your reader by accident. I do wish we still had those temperatures though! But I'm crossing my fingers...

When I was over at sunny's last, we were going through some of her Indian outfits and she has braces on some of the trousers to stop them from falling dowm when she's dancing! Maybe you should do that too :)

I'm so jealous of the gorgeous traditional clothing -- you look incredible (as always), my friend! Everything about what you wore is perfect (despite any fashion difficulties you felt!).

I love the colours of your outfit, so beautiful and such a shame that the trousers were so difficult to wear.

Looking lovely in the outfit.
I think every indian women look more beautiful when she wears indian traditional wear. It will make the occasion like wedding more graceful if all are wearing traditional wear and it feels so great and exciting.
There are so many online shopping store in Uk which offers indian women ethnic wear.
