Lazarus Echapeau

I'm getting geared up for winter properly now. I've investing in a few new coats and am slowly getting a small collection of winter hats and scarves to protect me from the wind and rain.
One issue I usually have, though, is making sure everything matches. Unless it's plain black or grey, I do find it difficult to mix and match scarves and hats.

Then I found out about L for Lazarus, a company who invented the Echapeau. Derived from the French words for hat and scarf (chapeau and echarpe), this unique product does what it says: it's both a hat and a scarf. They can be connected and worn together, or even worn individually.

The designer, Nicolette, got in touch about it and I was offered one to review. Nicolette spent 20 years working for agencies such as Saatchi and Saatchi, before moving to Amsterdam and setting up the company. She's absolutely lovely and the Echapeau's are amazing. I chose the Livvy Echapeau Herringbone, and it's definitely the perfect accessory for the never ending British winters.

Yesterday was particularly windy and cold, so I wore the Echapeau on a shopping trip and I loved how warm and cosy it was. It's great as you can wear it a bunch of different ways. My ears get really cold in the winter, so I loved how I could wrap it around my head a neck and be completely covered up. For a slightly less bundled up feel, you can also de-button the scarf and hat, so that they're different pieces. Genius!!!

Love the layering and the casual look of your outfit. I'm into scarves as well and I always manage to find new additions to my collection. And the bigger the better.

What an unusual and interesting idea! If the echapeau comes in pashmina fabric, I'll definitely want one, it seems like the perfect accessory for a rainy winter :)
