Pink Dress

I wore this on Saturday, while at the Aussie Summer Soiree. I love this pink dress, and it's fast becoming my go-to dress...unless Susie decided to wear her one, which is identical, but black.

Photobucket

The dress is from H! By Henry Holland for Debenhams, and I am so impressed by that collection. I'm not usually a fan of stuff in Debenhams, but this collection is full of amazing little gems. It's the Debs sale right now, so I definitely recommend you checking out the range. I paired the dress with my gorgeous Sarenza kitten wedges. It was such a lovely day as well, that I abandoned my tights not too long after.

My only explanation for the 2 pictures below is that I'm trying to dance...yup, so, dancing isn't one of my strong points.

I'm still always a tad bit weary of wearing pink though. How do you feel about wearing pink dresses?

Aussie's Summer Soiree

On Saturday, Aussie invited all us Angels to a huge Summer Soiree to celebrate everything we've done for the Lusciously Light Challenge (see here), and generally just have a good time. It was the first time that ALL the Angels were in one room, and it was great to finally meet some bloggers that I'd never had the chance to previously.

Photobucket

Once again, Aussie threw one hell of a party, that left all us bloggers completely spoilt rotten and feeling like princesses. There were hairdresses on hand, and I decided to go wild and big with my hair. There was also great food (hello cheesecake) and some aussome music on in the background, as ewll as great company all round.

There was also a super cool candy floss machine. We got to make our own!! Definitely a lot of fun (as you can tell from my face) and I think I have a hidden talent for making candy floss.

It was great seeing most of my favourite bloggers altogether, while generally just hanging out. Meting amazing girls at events has always been my favourite part of blogging. This is me with Winnie and Jen.

Photobucket

And it was also finally warm this weekend, so we got to sit outside for a while. This is Maria, Susie, Reena and Reena's Cousin.

And my favourite part was that there was a photographer on hand, Sam. I just loving posing so much, hehe. I could do it all day!! This is me with Maria having a lot of fun:

And apparently, this is my 'Where's my Limo?' face, hehe.

P.S. I'll do an outfit post of this dress tomorrow.

Also, Susie took a lot of the pictures above and there are more pictures on my Facebook page.

Outfit: Client Launch

I wore this, last week, while I was at the Client Launch, for their new collection (followed by pizza). The launch was held in this realy cool lingerie store near Old Street, called Bordello, and they had some really interesting stuff.

Photobucket

I wore this beautiful dress, which was gifted by Mina. Mina is definitely becoming one of my brands. All the dresses are so gorgeous and are great quality. I love how the colours all go so well together in the dress and how well it fits. Can't wait to wear this without tights! I also paired it with a pair of Asos heels.

Susie took the above two pictures.

Client's collection at the launch was pretty good as well. A lot of the pieces are military inspired (often from ex-military clothes), so they were well tailored and well made. I also love the scarves!! They looked so cool.

Hyde Park for a gig

On Wednesday, Susie and I headed off to Hyde Park to see Kings of Leon live. It was an outdoor gig, so I was really pessimistic about the weather. It was literally bucketing it down that morning, and we were drenched while we were in the queue to get in. But by some miracle, it really cleared up by the time they opened up the gates to let us in.

Photobucket

Once in, we realised that the ground was massive, and decided to go straigt to the main stage and were really lucky to be right at the front. we were surprised at how close we actually got, and were only 4 from the front by the time the gig started.

I have a slight confession though. Despite being a huge Kings of Leon fan, the main reason I got these tickets was because both Mona and White Lies were supporting. I am in love with both bands, so was more excited to see them.

To my surprise, Mona were first supporting act (They had to get to Glasto) and that really made my day. I've missed out on seeing them live twice (I even had tickets on time), but I did end up meeting the lead singer, Nick Brown, at an afterarty though. They're an awesome band and I was expecting them to be great live, and they were so much better!! They were amazing and are possibly the best band I've seen live now!! They absolutely rocked Hyde Park and were so brilliant! I love them so much more now.

Next up was The Zac Brown Band. I don't think a lot of people knew who they were, but they were so entertaining to watch. They were predominantly a country band, but had a guy rocking out on the violin (coolest thing ever) and even a guy going nuts with a tamborine. It was hilarious. They ended their set with a cover of Rage Against's 'Killing in the name of' and I think Susie was the only person there who'd never heard that song before.

PhotobucketPhotobucket

White Lies were next and I was so excited to see them as well. I saw them earlier this year and they were amazing, so I was excited to see them in this kind of an atmosphere. They rocked it and are always a pleasure to see live. My favourite thing about them is that vocalist, Harry, always smiles on stage and looks like he loves every second of it. I know both albums like the back of my hand, so was singing along during the whole set.

After they went off, we were pretty tired. We'd been on our feet for ours, so decided to move away from the front and grab some food, and hill out for a bit. Only then did we realise just how big the whole area was. There were thousands of people there, most at the back , sitting on the grass, having picnics. The atmosphere was immense and everyone was having a great time. There were lots of food stands and tons of people just enjying themselves, while watching the show on the big screens.

After eating, we decided not to go back to the front, but chill at the back and relax. Paul Weller was one by this point, and no denying that that man is an absolute legend. He was amazing to listen to while in the background.
Finally, at 8.45, KoL came on and they were amazing. By this point, though, a lot of people were really drunk and really annoying and it totally ruined the experience. But KoL were still fab and did a great mix of old and new songs. We were stood towards the back, and watching the sunset, while listening to KoL was amazing. My favourite moment was when they played Closer (my favourite song of theirs) just as the sun was setting. Perfection!

What's been your best live music experience?

Outfit:: Rainy London

I'd love to be able to say that I just 'threw this on', but in all honestly, it took me hours to put it together. Yellow goes with suprisingly little, but I thought I'd go all out with the colour blocking here.

I wore this on Wednesday, where it spent all morning and the early afternoon bucketing it down with rain. Seriously: we got drenched.
We (Susie and I) had a few hours to kill after a pretty cool brunch, before a Kings of Leon gig (more on that in a later post), so we wandered around Camden.

Photobucket

I know I'm smiling, but really I'm thinking: "Grrr, stop raining, I woke up early to do my hair". The skirt, which I love, is from the H! by Henry Holland Range, at Debenhams. It's on sale by the way: £12.50 :). The red tee, peeking out from below is from Matalan and my boots are New Look. They're actually really really old, but I've only worn them once before.  Anyway, the gig was an outdoors one, so we decided it best to buy some more layers, so I bought a green hoody from HandM: it definitely came in handy!

Us in the queue to get into Kings of Leon. I think we were in that queue, in the rain, for like an hour! That's dedication

And a sneak peak at how awesome the gig was, and how much fun we had.

Thank You HP

If you follow me on Twitter, you might have seen my angry tweets last week about my computer. It restarted itself and then decided to delete everything from my hard drive. It needed a huge virus scan and was down for days and days. Needless to say, I was NOT happy.

Lucky for me, HP spotted one of my tweets and offered to help out. They sent out one of their HP Mini 110's in blue, to trial and play around with for a few weeks, until my computer was sorted.

Photobucket

I really love this laptop. It really helped when I needed it the most and was a perfect stand in for my PC. I love the colour of it. The blue makes it more fun than the average black or white laptops out there and it's so easy to use.
Because it's small, compact and light, it's the perfect laptop for on-the-go blogging. I can take it out and about to events, and do 'live blogging' while there. I haven't done this yet (too scared to take it out, in case it gets a bump), but if any laptop was made for live blogging, it's this one.

Photobucket

The Mini switchs on and gets started really quickly and the battery life lasts forever. I can take the laptop around the house, whether in the garden, or in front of the tv, and the battery will go on all day. That's a huge plus, as no one likes lugging around a huge charger everywhere. It also doesn't get too hot when you leave it on your lap for too long.
Best of all, it's really comfortable to use. It's light and compact, so easy to carry, and the keys, in particular, are comfortable. I found myself typing a lot faster, and not feeling the need to hit the keys too hard.
I'm not sure exactly what Mini 110 it was, so can't give the all important specs, but it had Windows 7 starter and an integrated webcam. The screen was also anti glare (not that that came in handy as it's been dark and wet for the last few weeks now).

Photobucket

I have to give it back to HP at the end of the month, but July is my Birthday month, so  I really think I'll get myself a HP Mini with my Birthday money. The mini's come in so many patterns and colours, that I can really have a lot of fun when buying and choosing mine. HP even did a collaboration with Vivianne Tam and launched some amazing laptops, with butterfly prints on them. I'd love to have such a fun, fashionable laptop that's colourful and cool. It'll look so much better than the standard ones out there.

What laptop do you have? Would you try the mini? (Please, no PC v Mac debates, hehe)

Client

I recently found out about a cool new label, Client, who are about to launch in the UK, with a heavy Military Chic feel to it.

Set up Kate Holmes, who is also in a band of the same name, the unisex brand is sexy, with heavy inspirations from the cold war as well as some cool clubs, with some edginess thrown in.
The collection is full of uniforms and office wear, from the likes of secretaries or shop assistants,  but with a modern touch.

Photobucket

The new collection, yet to be launched, will consist of easy to wear utilitarian dresses, trench coats and accessories, all of which will be affordable. Everything is maufactured in the UK and there's even a sustainable line that's from used army and field wear, all re-cut and re-made by Client. The pieces are all unique and different from what there is on the high street. Designer, Holmes, was sick of seeing the same, poor quality, stuff in all the shop windows, all made abroad. She wants Client's clothes to last a lifetime and to be worn a lot.

I really love these military inspired pieces. They're structured, but also really easy to wear on a day to day basis.

A Mini Maxi

I haven't fully embraced Maxi dresses, as I'm still quite scared of being completely enveloped in them, and getting lost. I have a few, but I'm still on the hunt for the perfect one, and I think I may have just found it. Inlovewithfashion recently got in touch, asking if I wanted to try out a piece from the new collection, I immediately found my dream maxi and had to have it.

Photobucket

Isn't is absolutely beautiful? It's short at the front and long at the back, so there's no fear of the dress taking you over. The quality of the dress is fantastic as well. It's a really soft and light material, and so perfect for long summer's days in the park (whenever summer decided to make a proper appearance here that is).

Inlovewith do some really pretty clothes and the pieces are all perfectly feminine and girly. Their flagship store is in Oxford Circus and they're also stocked in over 40 Topshops around the country (and online). They do really amazing party dresses and some great casual tops. The prices aren't too bad, and the quality is fantastic.

Photobucket

Aren't my wedges really pretty as well. They're from Priceless, and were a gift from the PR Team. I've always loved Priceless shoes. The shoes are really fashion forward, affordable and so comfortable.

Photobucket

Have you embraced Maxi's? Would you consider wearing a mini/maxi (It still needs it's official name)?

Fabulous Photos

You'll remember, earlier this month, I was at the Face of Fabulous Launch for Fabulous Magazine. It was a great night and I had so much fun mingling with other bloggers and getting makeovers
Rush hair was on hand to do our hair and MUA was there, doing our make up.
After our makeover, New Look had a whole range of their clothes, for us to pick and choose from, and then we were treated to a proper photoshoot. I got the official photographer pictures a few days ago and really had to share them with you.

These pictures are as good as my modelling skills can go, and some of our expressions are hilarious. I still haven't quite mastered my 'blue steel' face, so my face looks a bit dodgy in these pictures, hehe.

These are of me, Susie and Lauren

Susie is totally working the camera in these ones. And there's also see the funniest expression you'll ever find on my face. I don't even know what I was thinking there, haha.
