LFW AW2012 Day 1 Highlights

My day 1 of LFW was surprisingly tiring. I had tons and tons of shows to go, and did a fair few, but coming home and taking off my 5 inch heels after a long day was bliss. Out of all the shows I did yesterday, there were two which really stood out for me.

I started my day backstage at Fyodor Golan, thanks to ghd. Kenna, creative director of ghd, talked us through the hairstyle that they chose for the show, as well as how it was achieved. It was such a pretty hairstyle, described as Russian Peasant, and looked amazing on the models, and with the clothes. ghd also gave me a ticket to the show, which was pretty stunning. The clothes looked spectacular and one or two of them were insane in such an amazing way. ghd did a fab job with one particular model, who had hair caged over her face, and there was also a model covered in green glitter and another with a Marie Antoinette type look.

Orla Kiely was another highlight. The presentation was really original and had the models in a 50's style party, fully equipped with a live band, dancing around with male models. It was amazingly laid out, and it was a great way to see the clothes displayed. The models were also really talented dancers, so we enjoyed watching them, while sitting with our tea cakes, at our tables. The clothes were beautiful and all so wearable. Each look was perfect was perfect for dancing and going out.

And Bora Aksu was amazing as well. I didn't take too many pictures of it, only this one of the models walking at the end. If you see the girl right on the end, that's a really good friend of mine, Marin, and it was great seeing her on the catwalk. I was a proud friend.

P.S. I'll try not to bombard you with too many LFW posts. I have another packed day today, but the rest of the days are pretty low key and easy going.
