Marni for H&M

I've never really been a fan of designer/high street collaborations. I find it's usually designer prices on high street quality, so I usually tend to stay away. I remember seeing all the queues for the Versace for H&M Collection a few months back, then going in store the following month and seeing most of the collection on sale, so I've never really seen the point of these collaborations.

I'd heard about the Marni for H&M collaboration, and assumed it was the same...until I saw the video for it on TV last week. Directed by the very talented Sofia Coppola, the video is stunning and really well made. The pieces look really gorgeous, especially in comparison to previous collaboration pieces and can't wait to check out the collection when it comes out tomorrow.

Although you still won't catch me in the queue, or fighting for pieces, I'll definitely make it into a store at some point next week to check out the collection in person and hopefully it won't disappoint.

It's out tomorrow, so let me know if you check it out, and what you think about it!

What do you think about designer/high street collaborations? Will you be buying from Marni for H&M?

I have in the past avoided high street collaborations partly because I can't be bothered with the hype and queuing for something and partly because I have been sceptical about the quality. I did see a TV ad for the collection last night and there was a really beautiful dress that caught my eye. Just wish they would do an ethical version!

I have to admit that I let these things pass me by...

Usually my local H&M stores don't take part in those sales, so I've never bothered. I saw all the pieces from Marni though and there's a dress I really, really like and consider buying for one of the weddings I'm attending this year. I'll only buy it if I see it in store somewhere though - no time for camping outside the shops ;)

I think this collaboration looks so much more interesting than Versace ones, and maybe, if any items find their way to the sale, I'll be buying :) xoxo <3

This is actually one the the few collaboration that I really LOVE! Adore Marni prints. I'm hoping my bf sister will score something for me, as I won't be able to go b/c of work. Can't wait to see what everyone gets. -xo

gosh, i love the video! i went to check it out tonight by accident. I didnt even remember until i saw this woman carrying the Marni at H&M bag!haha

Anyway, i gotta say, the collection consisted of lovely pieces with beautiful patterns and prints, which Marni never fails to deliver. But one problem, everything looked super sized and being the petite person that i am, it didn't appeal to me much, lol. There weren't a lot of people in the H&M shop that i went to either, and it's in the city center in tsim sha tsui (if u still remember your HK geography?lol) but it was almost 9pm to be fair.

Anyway, if you check it out too then pls do share your thoughts too!!!
