New Glasses from Specsavers

If you didn't know, I'm a glasses wearer. I'm usually in contacts, so a lot of people don't even know I wear glasses. I've been wearing them since I was about 11, but switched to contacts at 16 and have never looked book. Because I have pretty steady eyes, and my prescription hasn't changed since then, there's been no need to get new glasses so I've been wearing the same ones for almost 10 years.

That means it was pretty much perfect timing when I was offered a free eye test and a few pairs of glasses from Specsavers. I haven't had an eye test in several years and thankfully I was told that my eyes are very healthy, but I recommend going at least once a year to make sure everything is ok.
I was treated to a very thorough eye test and the in store staff where amazing. They explained what each test did and shared the results then and there. They were all very helpful and knew what they were doing, as well as answering any questions I had.

After a few tests, I was given free reign of the store to pick a few glasses. Specsavers often have various offers and when I went it was buy one get one free on designer pairs, which was a nice surprise. The staff were very patient with me as I tried on pretty much every pair in store, and asked them for their opinions, which they were very honest about. I ended up picking out two pairs, one from Roxy and one from Specsavers own range.

These are my chosen pair from Roxy:

I really like these ones. While I have a smaller than average head, it means that I try to avoid large glasses, but I was really drawn to these ones. The shape on them is so cool, and they are pink on the inside, which adds a nice bit of colour to my face.

And from Specsavers

These are a nice and more casual pair; one that I'll be able to wear on a more day to day basis. Specsaver's own brand had some fantastic styles in stock, and I really trust them - my last pair were from Specsavers and are still going strong after almost 10 years.

I'm excited to wear glasses on a more regular basis, and give my eyes a rest from contacts - they can get tiring to wear if you wear them all day, everyday. I know need to learn how to do make up based around glasses. Any tips? I already know mascara is a no-no when I blink, my eyelashes hit the glass!

Are you a glasses wearer?

Hope you're all having a great Easter break! Mine has been spent gigging and shopping.

I've never seen you wearing glasses before! Both pairs look great, it's nice to have a choice of styles. I wear glasses and your post has reminded me that I probably should get my eyes tested soon! x

I absolutely love the way both frames look on you, Sherin - very hipster!

I wear contacts all the time - I'm just not a fan of glasses. :/

Super cute glasses!

You look adorable. Yes, I too had no idea you wore eyeglasses. I used to only for reading mostly but lately have been needing to wear them a lot more. The frames you picked look nice on you! :) Hope you enjoy your week./Madison

You look amazing in glasses - they work so well on your face! Ugh, I hate mascara with glasses - I always get them all over the lenses. Seriously, you should wear them more often because you look fabulous! xo

Aw, you look so cute in glasses! I especially love the Roxy pair. I'm also a glasses wearer, although until a few years ago, no one knew it... I had been in contacts since I was fifteen. But I had a really unpleasant allergic reaction and had to stop wearing them, sadly :( I still don't quite feel like myself in glasses, which is why you never see me in them on the blog... but at the end of the day, I have to admit, I couldn't live without them (there are just too many things to walk into!) so it helps to have cute ones :)

I love them both. They suit you so well. I adore how the first pair has the pink on the inside.

I love your writing style, it's almost poetic! I enjoy reading it very much, probably because you describe thoughts which I share with you :) Your outfit is very nice, simple yet stylish and of a good quality. Perfect combination!
